Bridgeport mayor says more layoffs to come

Bridgeport city employees could see pink slips soon.

Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim says the layoffs he's announcing today will save the city $4 million and help him balance the budget.

Ganim says he has met with union leaders over the past several months in an effort to avert layoffs.

But, he says the time has come for him to slash at least 20 jobs, unless union leaders come forward and agree to pay freezes and furloughs.
