Police: Man killed in hit-and-run

Investigators say 56-year-old Ricardo Rose was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer near the intersection of Wordin and Howard avenues Saturday.

Police say Rose was selling crack to the driver and his girlfriend, but the couple refused to pay and sped off.

Investigators believe Rose was standing on the running board at the time and fell to the ground where he was run over by the trailer.

Neighbors are calling the incident tragic.

Police say the tractor-trailer was stopped at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday.

They say the driver is cooperating with police and so far has not been charged.

Police say his girlfriend was arrested on drug charges.
