Police: Man faces charges for stealing trooper's assault rifle
State police say a second man is facing charges this morning in connection to the theft of a trooper's assault rifle, ammunition and body armor in Milford earlier this year.
Investigators say 18-year-old Leandre Crockett, of Hamden, was arrested as he appeared at New Haven Superior Court on unrelated charges.
Troopers believe Crockett, Travis Ingram, 20, and a third suspect stole the weapon from the trooper's cruiser back in March.
Investigators say two more arrests are expected to be made shortly in the case.
They say the assault rifle, ammo and body armor were recovered shortly after the theft.
