Police: Man attacked wife in front of their 7 kids

A Stamford man allegedly tried to strangle his wife in front of their seven children after she refused to have sex with him and one of his friends early Friday morning, police say.
Police say they arrested Pedro Lopez-Medel, 37, on charges of strangulation, assault and risk of injury to a child.
According to police, Lopez-Medel came home drunk and began arguing with his wife. They say he punched her in the face and threatened to kill her.
"He threatened to hit her until it hurt him," says Stamford Police Officer Adriana Molina.
The state Department of Children and Families is also investigating the children's well-being because all of them are under 18 years old, officials say.
The woman did not need an medical attention and is expected to be OK.
