New program for teens begins in Stamford

The Stamford Boys and Girls Club has kicked off a safe zone program for teens.

Officials say the club partnered with the City of Stamford to designate the Yerwood Center as a safe zone.

They say the center will organize activities like basketball and resume writing workshops for teens.

Club officials say they want to make sure kids have a positive place to relax and play at night in the summertime.

Organizers say the program will be begin at 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and run through August.
