Nice attack hits hard for Connecticut residents with French ties

Southwestern Connecticut residents with ties to France are once again coping with a tragedy in their homeland.
Corine Lucas has lived in Connecticut for the last 17 years but recalls Nice from her youth growing up in France. Lucas recalled how busy the city gets on Bastille Day.
"Everyone's there, even little ones," says Lucas. "It's really a family time. People are happy. Lots of music."
When Lucas saw what happened in Nice, she says she burst into tears. More than 80 people were killed and over 200 were injured when a man plowed a refrigerated truck into a crowd there.
The attack marked the third major terrorist attack in France in the last 18 months. Renee Ketcham, the president of Greenwich French Alliance, says that people in France are scared and now are more wary of their surroundings.
