Fundraisers held to support police K-9 programs

Several police departments are asking for the community's help to keep their K-9 programs running.

Fairfield police launched an online campaign to seek donations to help pay for training, care, and other costs associated with the program.

The Elks Lodge 899 also held a fundraiser at their location on Hope Street in Stamford until 1 p.m. today.

Organizers say the four-legged officers were in attendance to demonstrate what they do.
