Volkswagen is facing a new lawsuit this morning, claiming employees intentionally covered up cheating on emissions testing.
New York, Massachusetts and Maryland accuse VW workers and executives of trying to hide evidence of the emissions scandal after regulators began investigating the automaker.
Last year, the company admitted to rigging millions of diesel vehicles to make them appear fuel efficient.
Volkswagen is facing billions of dollars in fines from the federal government, and has already agreed to fix or buy back affected vehicles.
