Police: Stamford man slashed girlfriend, held her captive
Police say a Stamford man is facing numerous charges for slashing his girlfriend and holding her captive in his apartment.
The woman allegedly tried to leave her boyfriend's apartment on Greenwich Avenue several times and only succeeded Tuesday night when she climbed through a window.
Police say they found the woman with multiple cuts on her hands and more cuts and bruises on her face. They say there was a substantial amount of blood in the apartment, and that the woman had been assaulted and stabbed throughout the day.
Her boyfriend, Recardo Williams, 39, was charged with assault, carrying a dangerous weapon and strangulation.
The woman was treated at Stamford Hospital and is expected to be OK.
