Man injured in Stamford shooting; 1 arrested

A man is in serious condition after being shot multiple times in Stamford's South Side and one person is in custody in connection with the incident.
Police say a shots were first fired on South Pacific Street. It was followed by a second shooting after midnight Friday on Cedar and Henry Streets. Police believe the shootings are related.
Officers responding to the scene found a 24-year-old man lying on the street with multiple gunshot wounds. They say he was with another man, 25-year-old convicted felon Juan Peralta, who was arrested.
The victim and Peralta are friends, police say, and were likely returning fire to those who shot at them.
Police add they are interviewing witnesses and checking surveillance footage as they move forward with the investigation.
