Statistics: Crime reduced in Bridgeport

Bridgeport officials have released new crime statistics that show a reduction in homicides and shootings for the first half of the year, when compared to the same time-frame last year.
Officials say so far in 2016, the city has had four homicides.
They say that's a 50 percent reduction from last year.
They say two of those homicides were the result of gun violence, which is a 75 percent decline in gun homicides from the first half of 2015.
Finally, the statistics show Bridgeport has seen a 25 percent reduction in shooting incidents overall.
They say there have been 45 shooting incidents in the first half of this year, as compared to 60 shooting incidents in the first half of last year.
