Unrepaired sinkhole in Norwalk frustrates residents
Some residents in Norwalk say they're frustrated that a sinkhole on their street has not been fixed.
The sinkhole is located on Lockwood Lane. Residents say it appeared a month ago.
The Department of Public Works director says he's aware of the sinkhole. He says while not terrible, the sinkhole has been an inconvenience for drivers since it narrows the road as the area surrounding it has been blocked off.
He adds that a water main break two years ago ultimately weakened the road's surface and caused the sinkhole to open up.
Officials say residents shouldn't worry about the sinkhole expanding. The director says the department is fixing the problem and the work should be finished next week.
