Milford police: 5 abandoned pets found in foreclosed home on Mayflower Place

Milford police say they're looking for a woman after she moved out of her foreclosed home and left her pets behind unattended for about a week. The woman is facing animal cruelty charges.
Police say they found five malnourished and dehydrated animals inside the house at 92 Mayflower Place.
They say concerned neighbors called to report that pets might be inside the home.
News 12 Connecticut has learned that the two dogs were in such bad shape that authorities had to euthanize them.
Officers say the three cats that were also left there are now at Milford Animal Control and are doing well.
Police estimate the animals were locked in the house for about a week with no water or food as the area experienced a heat wave.
Authorities say that if someone can't take care of a pet, they should reach out to someone for assistance.
