A new restaurant serving up classic soul food is open in Stamford.

Soul Tasty is located at 29 Main St.

Restaurant owner and chef Jean Gabriel says he wanted to open the restaurant in Stamford because there aren't many restaurants that serve up traditional soul food.

Gabriel says although he has a degree in culinary arts, he has incorporated a lot of his mom's recipes into the menu.
