Westport PD raising money to train newest dog

Westport police introduced their newest police dog, Atlas, to the force Wednesday.
Atlas is a 19-month-old German shepherd.
Police tell News 12 Connecticut that they plan to use Atlas to help search for missing children, missing elderly and missing Alzheimer's patients. The K-9 will also be used to search for drugs.
Police say Westport's K-9 unit, which consists of three dogs, is funded by the help of two long-time donors, but they need more help raising money for Atlas' training and care.
The department has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay those fees.
