Dodd, Lieberman talk mortgage relief in Stamford
Connecticut's two U.S. senators are throwing their support behind a plan to protect mortgage giants Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.
Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) was in Stamford Monday, promoting his own "Hope for Homeowners" legislation, but says support for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae is just as important.
Dodd, the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, says even though both companies are financially solid, the federal plan to protect them should be approved by Congress as quickly as possible.
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) was also in Stamford, visiting the SoundWaters program at Cove Island Park. He too supports the bail-out plan for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Lieberman says the American economy and the American homeowner need the added security.
