Funeral held for Bridgeport drowning victim
Family and friends gathered to say goodbye to 17-year-old Manuel Matias of Bridgeport four days after the teenager drowned in Samp Mortar Lake.
Hundreds lined East Washington Avenue wearing pictures of the teen, and some of Matias' music played during the ceremony.
"He loved his family, he was too young," says Francisco Rosa, Matias' uncle. "He didn't even experience his life."
Matias, who died while swimming with friends on Tuesday morning, loved music and aspired to be a disc jockey.
"It's just hard for all of us. It's a big loss, it's a real big loss," says Rosa.
