Mother, daughter rescued from submerged car
A mother and daughter were pulled to safety Saturday after their car fell into water at Cove Island Park.
Their vehicle, a Kia Sportage, quickly became submerged after it began sinking about 7 p.m. Witnesses say they heard a crash and saw the vehicle in the water.
"I?m just glad they both got out safely and glad to be with people who were willing and able to help,? says David Willard of Stamford, who helped bring the mother and daughter to safety.
Witnesses say both women were conscious, but shaken, and were taken to the hospital.
There is no word yet on their conditions or what caused the accident.
