Police: Greenwich burglary could be linked to others

A Greenwich homeowner slipped out of her home Friday night as an alleged burglar was breaking in.

Police say the alleged thief kicked his way through the door of the Railroad Avenue apartment at about 5:30 p.m. Once outside the apartment, the woman called 911.

The suspect was caught about a block away behind an office building after a brief chase. Police say there have been several burglaries in Central Greenwich recently. They say they?re trying to find out if Friday?s incident is connected to others.

Police identified the alleged burglar as 56-year-old Wallace Brabham, of New Haven. They say Brabham has a long history of prior arrests for burglary and drugs.

A digital camera is missing from the home, according to police. The homeowner says all things considered, she is doing all right.
