Days before the annual Memorial Day fair in Darien, dozens of dead fish turned up in a local pond.

Tilly Pond Park is the site of the biggest annual fundraiser for the town?s volunteer ambulance service. Earlier in the week, about 40 dead fish turned up in Tilly Pond. Water tests were conducted after the fish were found.

According to the town health department, the results show the pond and the surrounding area are safe. The results show there is no danger to anyone.

The interim health director says an investigation has been launched. According to the health director, it is possible there may have been a leak from a septic tank.
