New Canaan police warn residents of suspicious vehicle

Police in New Canaan are asking the public for information about a suspicious vehicle that apparently trailed two kids as they got off the school bus Friday. According to police, the car was seen in the area of Stonehenge Drive, which is a cul-de-sac with no outlet. Police say the only reason a car would be on that road is if they were going somewhere on that street. "The youths noticed the car as they got off the school bus and as they started walking to their home," says Lt. Dave Bender, of the New Canaan Police Department. "The car drove up a couple of driveways, turned around and kinda came back."
The bus driver was told about the car and copied down the license plate. When police ran the plate, the registration didn?t match the vehicle.Officials say New York State Police are investigating reports of a similar car containing two people who tried to talk to children in Somers, NY. The car is described as an older blue sedan with a sticker that reads ?LA? on the driver's side rear window. It has Connecticut plates reading either 797-JPL. Anyone with information is asked to call New Canaan police at 203-594-3500.
