Westport police are investigating reports that nude images of an underage individual are making their way around to students of Coleytown Middle School.

Officials at the Westport school say they have no comment, but parents say a letter from them stated that a nude photograph and/or video of a student from the school are being circulated on the Internet and cell phones. The letter asserted a group of seventh-graders is behind the dissemination of the images.

Police say if charges are brought against the students believed to be behind the pictures, they could be referred to juvenile court.

Calls placed to the superintendent of Westport Public Schools were not returned.
