Early morning accident claims Fairfield man's life
An early morning car accident in Easton Saturday took the life of a 22-year-old from Fairfield.
Derick Springer was killed in a two-car crash just south of Westport Road around 2 a.m. Police say it's not clear if the accident was caused by either weather or speed.
Six other occupants were transported to area hospitals. Police have not released the names or conditions of the other victims.
News 12 Connecticut has learned Springer's family is returning from a family vacation in Florida due to his passing. Relatives describe Springer as a well-liked and outgoing young man who worked as a landscaper.
Easton police are being assisted in the probe by Fairfield Police Department's traffic investigators.
