Amtrak train hits and kills man in Stratford

(04/14/08) STRATFORD ? An Amtrak train struck and killed a man near East Main Street in Stratford over the weekend, sparking an MTA investigation.
The incident occurred at around 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Police say the area around the Metro-North tracks is protected by a 10-foot fence, but the man may have used a nearby door to gain entrance.
The train, containing 230 passengers, was held while police and the medical examiner investigated the scene. It was heading from Boston to New York. Amtrak uses Metro-North?s tracks.
