Robbers make off with iPods, electronics in Norwalk
Police are investigating a string of burglaries at electronic stores across the Northeast, including Sunday's smash-and-grab in Norwalk.
Police received a call 14 minutes after the Best Buy store on Connecticut Avenue closed at 9 p.m. Officers say they found the back door open when they arrived with a K-9 unit. Robbers had fled with GPS systems, digital cameras and iPods.
"I think that any time you have brand new consumer electronics ? those are all hot-ticket items and very easy to dispose of on the secondary market," says Norwalk Police Lt. Paul Resnick.
Similar robberies occurred Thursday in Manchester and Enfield. Surveillance video shows the robbers dressed like ninjas in the Manchester robbery.
Authorities are probing whether the Connecticut crimes are related and whether they're also related to a slew of New York burglaries.
