Family holds vigil for man slain by Bridgeport officer

The family of man shot and killed by a Bridgeport officer in January held a vigil Saturday for him.
Frederick McAllister, 33, was shot by Lt. Brian Fitzgerald after a car chase. Police say McCallister was armed. There was also a warrant out for his arrest in South Carolina at the time.
McCallister's family traveled to the state in order to find some closure.
"It took us a while emotionally to get over the fact that he was killed," says Jerry McCallister, the victim's brother.
Jerry McCallister says the family wanted to see the site of the incident and get information on how the situation occurred. Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch has commended the family for their patience with police as the investigation continues.
Fitzgerald was recently promoted to lieutenant, but he remains on administrative leave due to the shooting.
