Norwalk head-on collision has neighbors concerned
? A Tuesday night collision which left two people seriously injured has the people of Norwalk concerned over local traffic problems.Residents say Tuesday night?s accident is one of many on Newtown Avenue, where speeding is not uncommon. Many residents say that something needs to be done before the accidents turn deadly. One recent accident involved a car losing control and hitting the pumps at a Citgo station on the corner of Chestnut Hill Road and Newtown Avenue. Some people want a light put on the corner to help cut down on accidents. The two cars in the latest video were so mangled, fire rescue crews had to cut the victims from their vehicles. It took firefighters nearly 45 minutes to remove one woman.Police believe that speed was a factor, though they are continuing to look into additional causes of the accident.
