People born on Feb. 29 may not be able to celebrate their actual birthday every year, but a pizza place in Norwalk is giving those Leap Year babies more reason to celebrate this year.
Papa John?s Pizza in Norwalk is giving away a free pie to residents whose birthday falls on Leap Day. The manager expects to give out as many as four-dozen free pies.
Feb. 29 was added to the calendar thousands of years ago by the Egyptians. Researchers say there are actually 365 and a quarter days in a year. The Egyptians added the extra day to the calendar every four years to even things out.
Technically, those born on Leap Day only get to celebrate their birthdays every four years. However, many say they like to pick which day to celebrate during the other three years.
