Expert sounds alarm on $4 gallon of gas
Rumors of gas prices possibly reaching $4 a gallon by the summer are setting off alarm bells in southwestern Connecticut.
Though it is not definite, some fuel experts expect the price of gasoline to hit the dreaded number by Memorial Day.
?I think $4 a gallon is quickly approaching,? Michael Fox, of Gasoline Automotive Service Dealers of America, says.
Many drivers say they long for the gas prices of yesteryear. In 2003, drivers were picky about paying under $1.50 per gallon. During the years before that, many drivers remember paying less than a $1 per gallon.
Energy experts say demand in the spring and summer could be to blame if prices hit the $4 mark. They also say the high cost of gas is fueling a surge in food prices.
