A Bridgeport school employee tells News 12 Connecticut she is concerned about the increasing number of children coming into school with bites all over their bodies. She says most of the students come from the public housing complexes.
The employee, who wished to remain anonymous, and parents of affected children say the Bridgeport Housing Authority should be doing more.
P.T. Barnum Public Housing resident Rosa Rodriguez says her son has been bitten all over. She says she?s doing everything she can to stave off infestation like throwing out her furniture and cleaning, but that the Housing Authority won?t help her.
The Bridgeport Health Department released a statement through Mayor Bill Finch's office. The department says it is aware of the situation and is working on the problem.
