Cops ensure safety at game postponed by violence

Police presence ensured that a Norwalk high school basketball game postponed due to violence concerns took place without incident.
A matchup between Brian McMahon and Norwalk high schools was postponed for a week due to a recent surge of violence in the city. City officials feared the game could become a site for retaliation over a recent drive-by shooting and a separate party where four teenagers were stabbed.
Spectators weren't turned off by the extra security. "I think it's a good idea," said one fan. "The more security ? the better."
Though Brian McMahon beat Norwalk High School, Norwalk's mayor said everyone was a winner since the game went off without a hitch.
