Super Tuesday is expected to bring a super voter turnout in Connecticut.

Over the past three months there have been a record number of voters registering to vote in Connecticut. About 13,000 previously unaffiliated voters switched to the Democrat Party while 3,600 unaffiliated voters registered with the GOP.

Secretary of State Susan Bysiewciz is predicting voter turnout to be close to 50 percent. Connecticut is among 24 states voting in Tuesday?s primary. The Nutmeg state remains pivotal in the presidential race.

Many Democrats say it will be a tight race between Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.). Others predict Republican John McCain will see victory for his party due partly to the fact that he is a fiscal conservative.

Polls in Connecticut are remain open until 8 p.m.
