Smoke alarm unearths alleged fake ID operation

Police responding to a smoke alarm at Fairfield University on Christmas Eve say they discovered a fake ID operation in a dorm room.
According to police, everything needed to create fake IDs and some actual fakes were discovered in the Dolan Hall room. The investigation led them to another student living in the Fairfield University Townhouses. That student, Taras Kulynch, of Yonkers, New York, was arrested.
Police say Kulynch sold the operation to the female student who lived in Dolan Hall.
"They were willing to take the risk," said Capt. Gary MacNamara, of the Fairfield Police Department. "[They] made a little bit of money on it. Made a few individuals, probably on campus, have the ability for a short period of time to utilize those fake IDs. Unfortunately for them, their activities caught up with them."
The female student is expected to turn herself in sometime next week.
