A police standoff in Bridgeport ended peacefully Saturday after the suspect surrendered to authorities.

The suspect has been arrested for breach of peace. Police say he barricaded himself inside the Vine Street basement apartment.

The standoff lasted around 30 minutes. Several streets were closed as police surrounded the building, but the area has since been cleared.
