Weston official defends himself against firing attempt
Weston?s top communication official defended himself Friday in front of the Weston Board of Selectmen on charges he tried to influence the outcome of an internal election.
Town officials say Communications Center Manager Mike Lieberman put letters in the mailboxes of EMS workers to turn them against the man he was running against for a leadership position.
Town Administrator Tom Landry says he captured Lieberman putting the letters in the mailboxes on tape. Lieberman denies both writing the letter and putting it in the mailboxes. He says he installed the cameras himself and asked the board why he would knowingly do something wrong in front of them.
Landry asked that the board fire Lieberman, who has been suspended without pay. The board will continue hearing the request to fire him on Monday night.
