Police: Man stabbed after intervening in spat
A man is due in court this week to face charges in a fatal Stratford stabbing that police say might have been over a woman.
According to police, Lee Grenier, 25, made a surprise visit to his ex-girlfriend's house Saturday night. Grenier was allegedly confronting his ex, 26-year-old Jillian Durkin, when 27-year-old Ryan Pepe intervened.
Police say they found Pepe stabbed when they arrived around 3:45 a.m. Grenier is being held on $1 million bond. He is charged with murder, unlawful restraint and carrying a dangerous weapon.
Pepe will be buried Tuesday. The victim's father has said his son should be remembered as a hero.
