Greenwich docs offer holistic ways to lose weight in '08
Doctors in Greenwich are urging those looking to lose weight in 2008 to try a holistic approach.
The new Center for Integrative Medicine is an affiliate of Greenwich Hospital. Dr. Henri Roca says the center offers the services of acupuncturists, naturopaths and chiropractors. Roca says he expects more patients than ever to opt for natural remedies as a way to lose weight.
Roca says the natural therapies are not meant to completely replace conventional methods of losing weight, such as exercising and eating correctly. According to Roca, the same goes for treatments that don?t involve weight loss.
?Our job isn?t to ID symptoms to suppress them with medication, supplements or herbs,? Roca says. ?Our job is to take a much broader view, a holistic view.?
