A Fairfield couple died in a car accident on Christmas while visiting family members in Florida.
Gerard and Denise Bassi were killed in Hudson, 20 miles north of Tampa, Florida investigators say. Police say the couple?s car was hit by a driver who ran a red light.
According to police in Florida, Gerard Bassi died at the scene. His wife, Denise, died after she was taken to a hospital.
The couple leaves behind three daughters. They were informed of their parents? deaths by Fairfield police officers.
Police in both Fairfield and Florida are working together to figure out events surrounding the crash.
