Residents dine, gather at few places open on Christmas
For those who don?t celebrate Christmas or have family nearby, it can be challenging to find ways to keep busy, but people found a way to cope in southwestern Connecticut.
Some families opted for Chinese food. "When you come to a Chinese restaurant it?s fun because it's not that same kind of atmosphere,? says Terian Chertok. ?I mean the atmosphere is usually great, great holiday spirit, but for us this feels normal.?
Others flocked to their local Starbucks to spend some downtime and have a cup of coffee. Movie theaters were also popular destinations on Christmas Day.
While some establishments were open, their hours of operation varied and were limited in some cases.
