Man injured in Stamford drive-by shooting
A man is recovering Wednesday after a late-night, drive-by shooting in Stamford.
Police say shots were fired around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Stillwater and Fairfield avenues. Authorities say the 24-year-old victim was rushed to Stamford Hospital with injuries to his abdomen and hand. Police say the victim?s injuries are not considered life threatening.
The victim, whose name was not released, told police he doesn?t know why he was shot.
Meanwhile, police are looking into two other gun-related incidents in Stamford. All three incidents occurred within a two-hour period.
The second gun-related incident occurred on Hope Street. Police arrested Sunny Wade, of Stamford, for allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend with a handgun.
The third incident happened on the grounds of Vidal Court. Authorities say two patrolling officers noticed a man who walked in the opposite direction when he saw the police presence. When the officers caught up with the man, police say they found a loaded .40-caliber handgun with 15 rounds tucked into his waistband.
