Man shoots first, asks questions later in break-in

A pair of burglars who tried to break into a Stratford home Thursday got a scare when the homeowner pulled out a gun and fired.
Police say the Graham Street homeowner and his wife were awakened before 10 a.m. by the sound of the burglars trying to get into their garage window.
According to police, the homeowner thought the duo had a gun, so he fired at the burglars several times. No one was hit, but the pair managed to run away.
Police say the crooks did not have guns, but they did have a long screwdriver, which could have been used as a weapon. Authorities believe the burglars, who were caught by responding officers, are juveniles from Bridgeport.
