The early bird got the bargains on Black Friday in southwestern Connecticut.
Stores across the state opened early and offered huge discounts on one of the biggest shopping days of the year. Shoppers lined up before the 4 a.m. opening at the Kohl?s on Connecticut Avenue in Norwalk. And shoppers brought coffee and donuts along with them to wait for the Circuit City to open on Connecticut Avenue. Those who lined up early knew exactly what they were looking for.
Many of the shoppers say they got up early because they know the stores have a limited supply of bargain items.
Over at the Trumbull Mall, morning shoppers created a literal mob scene outside the Circuit City store. Police were forced to use Taser guns to try and maintain the crowd. The store only allowed one person in at a time.
