Black Bridgeport sergeant 'shocked' over noose

A black Bridgeport police sergeant said she's disgusted over a noose she found under her police cruiser Wednesday.
Sgt. Joanne Meekins held a news conference Thursday flanked by police officials, the NAACP and representatives from the FBI. Meekins is a supervisor with the Bridgeport Police Department Community Services Division.
"I was shocked at what I found," Meekins said. "It was so hateful and so hurtful." The sergeant also said she trusts her chief and the FBI to conduct a thorough investigation.Lt. James Viadero said at this point, police don't know what the motive was behind the noose or who put it there. The police department is probing the incident.
Meekins' husband is a retired police officer.
