Bridgeport officer finds noose under marked cop car
Investigators are searching for more clues after a black Bridgeport police officer found a noose under a patrol car.
Police say Sgt. Joanne Meekins, a supervisor at the department?s community service division, found a hangman-type noose under a marked police car when she reported to work Wednesday morning.
Bridgeport NAACP President Craig Kelly says he has spoken to Meekins and is concerned about what she found.
The detective bureau set up a roadblock outside the Bridgeport police department in hopes of generating leads from passing drivers.
The Bridgeport police chief and Meekins are scheduled to hold a news conference Thursday to further discuss the incident.
