Phony cop pulls over woman on Milford road

Milford police are warning female drivers to beware of fake cops trying to pull them over.
According to officials, a man driving an unmarked vehicle flashed his lights at a woman on the Washington Bridge Wednesday morning. The phony cop pulled over the woman on Bridgeport Avenue near the Milford-Stratford line.
The victim told police she became suspicious after the man repeatedly asked her for her phone number once she gave him her license and registration.
Authorities are urging all drivers, especially women, to pay close attention to uniforms when they are pulled over. They say patches on the upper arm of the Milford police uniform should be gold, not red or blue.
Detectives interviewed the woman again Thursday and say they have a working description of the impersonator.
