Fabrizi set to pass the torch as head of Bridgeport

Bridgeport Mayor John Fabrizi is set to pass the torch following state Senator Bill Finch's overwhelming win in Tuesday's mayoral election.
Senator Finch got nearly 74 percent of the vote. Fabrizi will officially hand over the reins on December 1, but says he's been talking with Finch for several months in anticipation of Finch winning the election. Fabrizi told News 12 Connecticut he's already collecting resumes for the director of public facilities job. He's also asking all department heads to update their goals for their departments. Fabrizi says he wants everything on his desk and ready for Finch when he takes office in December. At Finch?s after-election party, Fabrizi pledged to make this "the smoothest transition for mayor in Bridgeport history."Fabrizi says giving up the position was extremely hard to do. ?The toughest, most difficult, probably most emotional decision that I ever had to make was walking away from a job that I truly love,? he says.
