Reverend to protest over noose decoration
A Stratford reverend is speaking out against a Halloween decoration he finds not only spooky, but also offensive.
Reverend Johnny Gamble, of Friendship Baptist Church, says the decoration looks like a black man hanging from the noose. He claims he first noticed the decoration at the East Main Street home this weekend and reported it to police.
Rev. Gamble says police asked the homeowner to remove the decoration but that she would not comply.
The reverend met with police again Monday. Police returned to the home, but no one answered the door. Rev. Gamble says if the decoration is not removed by Tuesday he will hold a protest outside the home.
Stratford police have not returned News 12 Connecticut?s calls for comment.
