Woman accused of running dirty day care to face judge

A woman accused of leaving her teenagers in charge of a dilapidated day care center while she took off for Florida is expected in court Tuesday.Colette Barnes, of Stamford, faces 16 criminal charges, including eight felonies. The state suspended her day care license last month after investigators discovered her daughters, ages 14 and 17, were left in charge of seven children.

Police say the conditions of the in-home day care center were hazardous and filthy.
