2 in custody for armed robbery after wild chase

Two men are in custody and one is on the run after an armed robbery at a small Stamford business Friday.

Police say the suspects broke into a business on the third floor of a building in downtown Stamford, forced the employees into a back room and took off with money.

Police then chased the three men after receiving reports of the robbery. They say much of the action happened near and inside a Bennigan?s restaurant on Main Street.

The hostess at the restaurant says the men asked for a drink and went to the bathroom. She says the suspects then ran out and came back, when undercover and uniformed officers nabbed one of the men. Another was cornered outside the restaurant.

The two men who were arrested face robbery, assault and kidnapping charges.Investigators are still looking for the third suspect.
