Some Bridgeport residents say they have had enough of staring at the dilapidated, stationary train cars near their homes.
In May, News 12 Connecticut reported the Department of Transportation left the cars on a stretch of track near the Bridgeport-Stratford line. At that time, the DOT promised residents it would move the cars to a Stamford train yard. However, residents say the train cars remain an eyesore to the neighborhood.
The DOT says it sold the graffiti-covered cars to a railroad museum in Pennsylvania. However, that museum has hit hard financial times and hasn?t been able to take the cars away.
Some residents say the cars should be removed regardless of who owns them. They say the cars attract dangerous activity and put area children at risk.
